Scratch’Postcards

Here is a post to congratulate Russia, and its singer Dima Bilan for winning the Eurovision 2008 Song Contest!

After the 43 countries voted, Russia got 272 points, 42 more than Ukraine, second place with 230 points, and 54 more than Greece, who took the third place with 218 points.

France, the country where I live, finished 18th with 47 points. Not a spectacular result, but quite better than last year, when their music wasn’t that bad. Their song for this year was Divine, by Sébastien Tellier.

My four favourites songs this year were, in order:

4. Turkey
3. Azerbaijan
2. Armenia
1. Israel

Well well, we’ll now wait another year to check out what will Europe bring to us musically next year!
